I grew up in a moderately prosperous family. However, my father had a really bad temper. Every time he came back drunk after social events, he would beat my mother. Sometimes, even the four of us children couldn't avoid his beatings. This left me with a lingering fear and a timid nature from a young age. So, at the age of 21, I got married in a hurry. At that time, I just wanted to escape from this family as soon as possible and didn't want to live in fear anymore. I thought I could finally lead a happy and fulfilling life. But unfortunately, the good times didn't last. Due to my ex-husband's gambling habit, my marriage ended in 2006. From then on, my dreams were shattered, and I was left with a debt of NT$ 3 million.
 
Reborn with SPA
 
In 2004, I had a very serious car accident (I was hit by a tour bus and thrown out). It resulted in a comminuted fracture of my first lumbar vertebra. At that time, the doctor said I would be paralyzed from the waist down for life. I had to always wear a back brace and use a U-shaped walker. Because of the pain in my lumbar spine, the deformation of my spine, and the inability to walk on my own, I started my rehabilitation journey. I tried various treatments, including electrotherapy and traction in Western medicine, as well as acupuncture, cupping, and massage in traditional Chinese medicine, and even some folk therapies.
 
At the invitation of a friend, I went to the company in Taichung to experience the SPA. After taking a 15-minute SPA bath, the pain in my lumbar spine suddenly disappeared. Right away, I took a SPA machine home. I used it at least five times a day and added essential oils (juniper, cogongrass flower, red pine needle, chamomile). After using it for a week, I could turn over in my sleep without anyone's help. After continuing to use it for two months, I gradually no longer needed the back brace and walker and could walk on my own. My weight also dropped from over 80 kilograms to 60 kilograms.
 
Later, Executive Director Guanying shared the GRANDSUN business with me. At that time, I didn't want to do direct sales anymore because in my previous experiences (with at least 10 companies), I had never made any money. But Executive Director Guanying invited me to participate in the elite seminar, and I decided to go. After the seminar, I was deeply touched. I realized that there was a reason why I couldn't make money in the companies I worked with before. The GRANDSUN business operates as a team, using the company's strength to help every distributor, which was different from the previous companies. So, I saw hope in paying off my debt of NT$ 3 million. Therefore, I decided to join the GRANDSUN business and start with a franchise store. I asked ten friends to help me set up the franchise store. From then on, we began to work hard on the GRANDSUN business.
 
Changing My Mind and Reaching New Summits
 
In the past, when I lived in Taiping District, Taichung City, it took at least 40 minutes to drive to the company in Taichung. At that time, I sold more than 30 SPA machines in Taiping. I was still running a franchise store then. Executive Director Guanying asked me, "Do you want to become a regional general manager?" I said, "Yes, I do!" Then she asked, "But why haven't I seen you bring anyone to the company?" I said, "My friends all say it's too far to go to the company," so I couldn't bring them to the company to attend the Opportunity Presentation (OPP). Executive Director Guanying told me, "This is why you can't become a regional general manager."
 
From then on, I changed my thoughts, concepts, and attitude. I followed Executive Director Guanying's advice and learned how to communicate with others. I made great efforts to invite people and participated in every course. I often traveled from Taichung to the company in Taipei to attend the team training organized by Executive Director Guanying, just to improve my abilities. Because of my personality, I was very afraid of facing people and even expressing and communicating with them. So, I studied communication very seriously and tried to do things that I had never dared to do before - facing people and communicating with them. This completely transformed me, Lai Yizhen, who had been self-abased and timid since childhood. After a year, I finally paid off all my debt of NT$ 3 million. I finally filled the financial gap and started to realize my goal of saving my first pot of gold, then the second, the third...
 
In 2011, I followed Executive Director Guanying's advice again: Set out once more! I believe that having a good mindset and a positive attitude are the key to operating the GRANDSUN business. Finally, in 2012, I reached the long-awaited position of director. I was like an ordinary little stone by the roadside. Thanks to Executive Director Guanying's perseverance, the continuous encouragement from Executive Directors Baijiang and Yanyun, as well as the support and motivation from Executive Director Zhang Rui's team in Taichung. Also, every time Chairman and Mrs. Chen saw me, they would say, "Yizhen, you have to work hard!" They gave me confidence again and again, which transformed me from an ordinary little stone into a shining diamond. It was a complete 360-degree transformation. Relying solely on my own strength wouldn't have been enough. It was the mutual encouragement among the partners in the GRANDSUN business.
